FAQ
What is diecutting?
Diecutting uses a flat bed cutting forme to stamp shapes out of different materials. We use a roller press which uses a table on rollers with the cutting forme on it together with the material, which is fed into one side of the machine and the cut piece comes out the other side.
Cutting formes cost money. We will charge you once for a cutting forme. It may cost $70 for a simple shape or thousands of dollars for a large complex shape. Most formes last for many years despite the amount of work they do.
What Materials can you cut?
We can cut any flexible and semi rigid materials. For example, paper, card, rubber, foam rubber, cork, foils, plastics.
We regularly cut rubber up to 9mm thick. Box board up to 3mm thick.
Some Semi-rigid / rigid materials over 1mm in thickness will have to be tested.
Materials such as metal we are unable to cut at this stage.
Do you supply the material?
Generally we cut material our customers have requested, however we have a range of material suppliers we use.
If you are looking for a specialty paper for example we suggest you source what you want first and then we will be happy to cut it for you.
Do you print?
No we don't but we do have a printer we trust who is just as helpful and customer service focused as we are and we are happy to recommend them to you.
